Pregnancy tests work by checking your urine (pee) for a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). Your body only makes this hormone if you’re pregnant. HCG is released when a fertilized egg attaches to the lining of your uterus — when pregnancy begins. If your pregnancy test results are positive, it means you're pregnant.
Aug 29, 2008 · updated information... so first I asked about my hcg being high at 10,000 on 22 to 23 dpo.. at about 36 to 40 hours later they have more than doubled at a little over 20,000 When I had my ultrasound at the 22 or 23 dpo my uterus showed the pregnancy but they couldn't see the sac yet. I've had several pregnancies never had levels so high.
